41th Rath Yatra on July 16, 2026
The Jagannath Rath Yatra, held during the sacred month of Ashada in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, continues to
be one of the state's most significant religious processions, second only to the renowned Ahmedabad
Rath Yatra. In 2026, the 41st Rath Yatra is scheduled to take place on July 16, commencing from the
Bhagwaneshwar Mahadev Temple in Subhash Nagar. Under the leadership of Harubhai Gondaliya and the
dedicated efforts of the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsav Samiti, the 17-kilometer procession will
witness thousands of devotees joining in devotion and celebration as the chariots of Lord Jagannath,
Balabhadra, and Subhadra travel through the city.
The yatra features three elephants, five horses, four akhadas, 120 trucks, 20 tractors, and five jeeps
with tableaus on different themes.
The procession passes through Mahila College, Ambawadi, Ghogha Circle, Rupani Circle, Sardarnagar,
Shivaji Circle, Gayatrinagar, and Bharatnagar. Devotees also perform Aarti before the jawans of the
paramilitary forces at Havmor Chowk to honor them.
